"Little Star

entre: Standing At the Edge of the Earth
5:18pm

I decided to write this blog for a person who didn't make it writing my life in a book...because she thinks mine deserves to land on pocketbooks...ayyy..
I didn't make it to her last minute on earth because of, you know what...what else is new?

We knew her through connections. Shes respected for her idealistic concepts on our vocation as educators in this struggle for quality but affordable education. And she worked with us as our principal for a year and consultant for 2 years. When I took office in 2006, when all Board of Trustees and Directors left and I was alone to save the dignity and name of my fellows and the institution, that, the darkest night in my profession-- she stood as my personal consultant and 4th mother till the time she died. She knew all my struggles, hardships and labor working alone to bring to life a dying institution. I made it! And shes one of the people behind my success.. success which my fellows cannot accept as one. Well, I did it silently, without telling anyone about everything I did. Their minds were locked in the past when they walked away without a do.. so as their thoughts about her.

When she knew Christ personally, I was the first one she called to tell that she did. And she rejoiced over my decision to go father than earning money for myself. She understood my calling. She happily told me she was given the task to make heralds for her church. The glow in her face, the answer to my prayer which she never knew I had for her.

When I was away to a far place, she often calls my office to remind my 2nd hand about her tasks and the memos I have to comply to. Shes so concerned...sobra! Although at that time, she's handling a big institution near mine. She showed me how a DepEd official thinks, and the way around. She encouraged me to speak out and do whats in my mind to make things right... well she's a very tough woman at her age. Someone who walks with regal in spite of many people who criticize and dislike her honesty and humanitarian concept on education.

I usually come to her house at night to share choco drinks with her.... reminding me always of my tiresome lifestyle and my addiction to coffee..... and the ripening time for me to look for someone... that money doesn't matter anymore since I got almost everything. But when I lost again...she never heard from me, nor did she saw my face... for I didn't want her see me bear the pain. And I thought she will get mad at my decision to stop. But..... she died, unexpectedly.... and I was so shocked! She learned my fall, but she never saw my rising.

She taught me that education is not only a business but a vocation. Influencing lives is far more valuable than earning millions. That a name is better than a bank account full of money.
She got some shares of sweet things too...and a secret only the two of us knows..... a sweet secret she told me with giggles.

Above all things, what I cannot forget is how she taught me to be regal at all times, minding my composure and my posture specially in times of tears, shame, jealousy and shambles.... oh I fail in moment of threat. That silence is not better when you need to save something.

We have the same namesung..... Tess. Hers is a "little star" while mine is " bitter".

I lost again...

What composure are you talking about crying before your lifeless body?? Nah!! See you one day under the tree of life at 3pm.... when my time was over.

Jealousy

Song: " No Playboy" by Nine Muses

It's maintenance in Facebook.... pwede ko na itong tapusin

Every morning, its my habit to read the news feed of facebook like reading a newspaper! Aha, ang tyaga ko daw, said one of my casual friend. Ei, I just like reading, same as I like music and dancing. And most of the status speak of love, pain, game requests, travels, joys..... but mostly heartaches! Ouch!

Solomon said, " Jealousy is a rage of man........ as fiery as the grave." Many gone broken because of this feeling that to some its a normal part of loving; to some its a shameful feeling they tend to hide and pretend it's not existing.....wow, ang tibay! While to some, it's connected to their obsessive-compulsive disorder na nakaka praning!

Well, doesn't everybody know that jealousy is a positive feeling? "Ows, common, ms. kamonez tisha! You're nuts!", you might say.

Jealousy is a feeling even God Almighty feels when He sees His children loving and worshiping another god! And when God's jealousy is triggered by this reasonable reason-- He sends fire to earth and burn the enemies alive! Ahahahaha! Laban ka dun?? Mas light pa 'yung paiyak-iyak at pa lita-lintanya ek ek mo! Hahahahahha!

When God created man, He created within him his emotions, the same as His'. So man is capable of loving and capable of hating. Only it gets too operational when sin entered in, when pain and heartaches came in..... exit joy..... sadness took over.

Jealousy is a basic protective defense mechanism of man against any intruder to his territory. Specially when the intruder is some kinda stealing something from him.

Because man is a territorial being.

Its either you're denying or you've earned a halo around your head better that God's halo! Ahahahahaha!

Jealousy is like a wall.....

It's also like a "mohon" ng lupa.....

It's like a gun you can use correctly, reasonably or ruthlessly.

It's also like an alarm system. A basic part of man's instinct.

Some people says...they don't have it! He he he he! Kasama ako sa tropa nila! Promotor pa! But one of my rude friends said," Di ka plang nakakatapat ng kasukat mo!" Hahahaha! She's right!

What makes jealousy negative? Its when its accompanied with a compulsive behavior. And compulsive behavior is not part of jealousy... a compulsive behavior is part of ones personality he uses when he feels negative. Also when the jealous person is having a obsessive personality. You see, we express our emotions using tools innate in our personality, shaped by our environment and family. So, we rather not feel the feeling.....hahahahahaha!

I am talking about jealousy in normal mode! Haha! Nalito ka na? Hala, tara, I will explain it to you the thin line between them.
Nevermind.........

Its a controllable feeling also...like most emotions, but compulsive people find it hard to control it specially if the intruder is having the advantage over what is his.

Whoever and whatever, jealousy is an attack to the self, the damage is primarily his. It is actually an expression of fear... fear of losing the one you love who is your life..and losing him
is like losing your life.. you won't breath anymore..then you succumb..hmmmm.

It's part of loving... but loving can exist without it, which is much better! Build security and faith and security and faith must first be built within you, then to him/her/them! Ei, pwede di ba? Ibang usapan na yan....saka na yn! haha!

Well, I am amused with jealousy.... its an expression of love, care and ownership. If you won't understand how God feels, then you will not be able to understand that jealousy is a positive feeling.

Put aside the hurt, try to read and understand...... then you'll discover that you are loved rather than possessed.... you're being asked, introvertly to " PLEASE STAY. I CAN'T BEAR TO LOSE YOU BECAUSE I LOVE YOU THAT MUCH, AND I WILL DIE LOSING YOU!" ---- di nga lang masabi because these words are not enough to express the feeling inside.

When someone can't say it.... he'll just put the "END" sign and walk away.

Asus, finally!

Airez Pura, My Back Brothers

It is a very rare time that our group gather together....and we had that opportunity yesterday late in the afternoon. I managed to see them after my check up in the PHCA.

Our friendship were made strong by time..... Trill Born, Phoenix Rein, Macmac, Garz Shyboy and Me. He he he he. Am the only girl in the group.

We've been friends for 13 years to sum up for the group but..

Trill Born and I we're friends for 24 years... Trill Born my back brother.

Mac my brother, weh....of course since birth..he's the closest brother I have, to me. We work on things none among our siblings care about. Ha ha ha! I have 3 brothers and no sister.

Phoenix Rein, my twinbro because he calls me twinsis, is my friend of 11 years. Trill Born said Rein and I have some similarities that I am still wondering what they are ! hahhaha!

Garz Shyboy became my friend because of Trill Born...we are friends for 12 years. He's the coolest one in the group and the youngest.

Our friendship was made strong by circumstances and challenges...

We encountered so many trials, challenges, problems, crises, even cross fights with the unknowns and we stuck together back to back...with a chant: "walang urungan, walang talikuran, ang umayaw pipitpitin ang ________ !!" Ano man ang pwedeng pitpitin!

We ventured into business together, we didn't care about profit. We gained P300 per person per month....., load for our cellphones! But nobody complained.... simply because we enjoyed working together... and eating and laughing together. Where did we get money for our lives? We made separate jobs and businesses.

We also have quarrels.... mas malala nga mga quarrels nmin. Tahimikan and dudahan afterwards, dahil each of us is capable of breaking mood sets. But quarrels don't last long like most friendships do, and end up making fun of each other's unforgettable pasts!

We had thick and thins and we survived them all. We went through the most difficult situations in life and we stuck together. Heaven knows how our backs bruised for each other. If there is competition in our midst, it is not in power, nor in fame and glory but in pockets... we compete to earn money, to accumulate so that at the end of our competition, we have money to help one another, money to buy what our families need and money for our hilig....kumain together! Even in competition, we support each other's business.....just like yesterday.

We have one goal in mind. One wish in life. One God we're calling. One faith in our hearts.

Now they have their own families..... married na sila... the bond stays, and their wives our allies.

Why I'm the only girl here? Ewan! Di ko alam. Many women tried to be with us, but they didn't stay long...bawal kasi ang chuchal sa group, bawal ang mag pa epek, mag pa cute at magpanggap....like most groups we have rules, and the toughest rule is respect and loyalty.

Our friendship was made strong by us.

Yeah, we treat each others as brothers and we are brothers beyond thick blood!!

One motto: " Ang papatay sau, papatayin ko! " parang totoo! hahahahaha!

We have other close friends also, who stood with us in some time or another, like brothers. And we are thankful to them.

" There are friends that stick closer than a brother."- the proverb

Hoy, bawal okrayin blog ko sa comment! Kumikita toh! hahahahahaha!! Ang mang okray, tataguan ko! Hahahahaha!!

When God Sent A " Kalabasa"

I missed the praising part in the church.... I sat at the back.

Comparison between Samson and Jonah was the topic on the pulpit. It was an interactive one. Who's life is better? Everybody will be asked, I thought...and I tried to recall the stories of those two different persons in the Bible, while my cellphone was beeping...it's Pau, nagging on me!

In between beeps, I managed to give an opinion.... I chose Samson! While I should have chosen Jonah! I can relate more with Jonah, but what happened to me...I don't know. hahaha! But I enjoyed the exchanges of opinions between the members of the church. I laughed for every statement thrown out to me....I missed this laughing.

Jonah won! hahahaha!

As if was seeing a mirror : Jonah was good in his life but failed in his mission. He ran away because he wants to take revenge to the race who killed his people, by not telling them how God wants to love and forgive them for doing so. But at the end, Jonah obeyed not out of his heart but out of duty as a prophet. And God spared Niniveh but Jonah was left angry. God sent Jonah a gourd with giant leaves to protect him from the sun, but when the night came, He sent a worm to devour the plant..to make Jonah understand God's heart. But still Jonah was angry.

I didn't fail my life.... but I was taken out of my life. I didn't fail in my mission, but I was taken out of it. And I don't understand why. I know I don't have the right to ask why...just like Jonah. (A lot of people are praying for me...but it seems there is no answer to their prayers, even to mine.)

And I was angry and down. Angry because I didn't pay much attention to myself before and angry because I lost everything now . Down, all my plans were ruined. My dream was gone. And I am stocked in the house like a patient..... Uuuu..... I am a patient! hahaha! But I don't like it! I don't like any of this thing happening.

Till God sent a cover upon my head.... but I only realized that this morning. And my mind razed to who that was? or what was it? And I found out who and what is that "kalabasa".

Why should I be angry? Is not God the God who works and the God who rests? .... I am resting. And this is a sabbatical rest.. Aha!

Oh, I don't have the right to be angry.

Why should I be down and out? Is not God the God of grace and mercy? Is He not the God who created joy and pleasure? ...... I was just given the time to heal all my wounds and find happiness which I was praying for, with the bonus of enjoyment.

I am so glad the Lord remained quiet and didn't make "sabay" to my temperaments, or else I would have been like Jonah, shaken by the storm inside the ship, till he was thrown to the sea and the sea became calm. Yeah, God has shaken me out from my busy days and works.....forcefully till I had no choice but to rest. Still I don't know what His reason might be. But am glad He sent a gourd to make me sit down and think under the heat of the "sun" of my life.

My mom said, "find peace in your situation".... and I did, just now.

Bernard is part of the gourd God sent me. This sweet one makes my rest a memorable one. He is like an ice on my head and a sugar to my coffee. He teaches me to be cool and to choose between ignoring and minding. Between simplicity and complexity. Something a bit hard for me to learn.

Signing off....

Isang Umagang Santambak Na Tinapay

I have lived, taught and train the badjaos in our community in Libjo, Batangas for almost 5 years now...life there is so simple. The people live according to what they can only afford in life. In there, I learned that pwede ka pala mabuhay at manatiling masaya kahit kakaunti lamang ang iyong pag-aari.

Nandun aq nang first time nila makatuntong doon.

"Oo naman! " sagot ko. " Ubusin natin!"

"Eh, teacher, mahal po bili nyo dyan.... paano po kau? Nakakahiya po sa inyo."

"Sus! bibili ulet! Tara, kain!! "

Tyak matutuwa lahat!! Mahal to eh! ". hahahahahha!

After many months, we have forgotten that moment. And I was forced to have an indefinite vacation away from the tribe because of an illness triggered by my exposure, fatigue and stress in the communities.... Joshua came, unexpectedly...his painful situation was used by God to bring him to our community.

Joshua.... Joshua Pamalison became my friend through phone and YM, and became an adopted son of my parents! Hala, ipinalit ba sa akin?? Hahahahaha!! But we became close, as if he's my real brother.

No one knows what Josh, as I call him, can do for us... we never thought about it. We just want him there, and live with us. We're happy seeing him there. Others call it a risk on our part because we don't know him... but to us, we call that love!

And who can tell that Josh, after few months of staying with us, fulfilled the simple wish of a badjao who ate with me at the table that one morning..... " makatikim ng tinapay ng Gardenia".

Josh was able to make contact with Gardenia and Gardenia made our community a recipient of 50 loaves of Gardenia bread every month ,as their donation!!!! Wish granted!!! Hahahahaha! And everybody's so happy specially the children! And to compensate for the delayed delivery of the Gardenia bread, 130 was their first donation... and next week will be 500 loaves!!!

Oh how we thank Gardenia Company for allowing themselves to be God's vessel of blessing to our community.. while others made a second thought of helping our people.... Gardenia didn't!! So we include their company to our prayers that God will prosper Gardenia above their competitors.... the only way we can pay back to their kind heart to us!!

" It's my first time na kumain ng gardenia... ang sarap po! Sosyal na kami! Thank you Lord!"

Thank you Gardenia!

And we thank Josh also.... he's a big blessing to our community, an answer to my very own prayer to send someone who can fill in the space I left.... the outsourcing work newly assigned to me. And a blessing --- that I gained a new friend! A bonggasious friend!! hahahha!!!

God is good....... He grants the simple wish of hearts who has simple intents in life.

At Umulan !!

Bakit FB ? He he he

I made it naman after they called me 2 minutes before 3pm!

Wala akong pakialam!!!!

and I felt like a child again......

sana laging umuulan.....

song:
"Day after day
I must face the word of strangers
where I don't belong...
I'm not that strong.
It's nice to know
that there's someone I can turn to
Who will always care.
You're always there.
When there's no gettin over that rainbow,
When my smallest of dreams won't come true.
I can take all the madness
the world has to give.
But I won't last a day..... without you..."

I won't Last a Day Without You

Talk to Me. --in filipino: Kausapin Mo Ako!!

My visits to the PHC became a point for us- me and my brothers to get together, got some talks and eat. They accompany me...a phenomenon I can consider..hahahha!! Because everybody's so busy and they're not always around....madalas nasa abroad cla and my illness lng pala ang way for us to get together. Gensec is my second brother.

So we- my brothers and I talked a lot in the car,and in the resto, nakakatulugan ko na nga...and guess what are we talking about.... ministries!! ayayayayyy! Maybe because that's our common denominator.

We talked about leadership... Leadership that applies to all settings- church, family, organization, etc.... But what I remember is one of the reasons why a leader fails is his failure to communicate :

One.. when he doesn't know what to say.

Two... Saying what you want in an unlikely pitched voice. Minsan ang nababasa natin ay hindi ung salita kundi ung paraan ng pagkakasabi ng salita kung kaya nagdaramdam or nagagalit or nag-ma maling akala.

Three.... Saying the words at the wrong time and lastly...saying the words at the wrong place. Pag wrong time at wrong place, kahit gaano kaganda gusto mong sabihin- nagiging mali pa din!

(biglang segway eh! )... kapag palpak ang communication, ayos ang relasyon! Kahit si super Mario hindi maayos yan! Tyak may magwa walk out!

tama???

yeah!

yeah!
