Gabi ng Dilim

Typhoon Ofel hit the South of Luzon, Philippines the other day, October 24. Her havoc ended only this morning.

I am in Batangas to finish a report for ALS DepEd when Ofel struct. But PAGASA announced that by early dawn of October 25, it will be out of the Philippine area of responsibility........... but we were all wrong. By lunch of October 25, heavy rains and strong winds began to pour. The electricity went out. So together with JR, we inspected the electric posts in the field leading to the community. The people began to strengthen their houses, and trimmed the trees.

We were alert the whole night....... and awake.

Running this old generator was a real pain in the ass... it took 2 hours to make it work, and gave light to our community for only 1 hour! Lahat yan tensyonado! Siyempre... joker aq eh!

We have gathered so many rain water for our use...wala nang mapaglagyan!

All our tanks were full of rain water.... yeah, we depend on the rain for our water supply...but we don't drink it...we just use it for washing and bathing. After gathering the water, we treat them with saline, and test it using the baby guava leaf test.... then we can use the water in cooking.... only in badjawan sa Libjo!

the rain subsided ....

I started doing the chronological bible story drawing....

Since the rain began to pour again..  we hardly slept...
the sapa beside our house... almost overflowing.....

to keep me awake .... ipagpatuloy ang work...

By morning, we found.......   the place where the boats docked completely washed and eaten by the sea!

this is where I was standing to get the pictures... after 2 minutes, this site was gone... washed by the sea.... ayy ang takbo q..palayo!

the edge of Malitam Island facing the Batangas Bay...

...and the other end of Malitam Island facing Libjo.

at inumpisahan naming hanapin ang remnant ng bangka........ grrrr! that is the Shell Refinery barge.

Pagalingan mag-angat ng sticks without moving the others! Ako ang tira dyan!

Hayyyy...nakakalurki ang bagyong yan!

Back to work
